What Families are Saying about Move to PROSPER

"I'm a single Mom of 3 young children. I read an article recently about your program. I've been living with family and friends and paying them rent for the last year, due to me being unable to find a safe, affordable home for my kids and I. Unfortunately living with others is difficult but also very helpful as a single mother. We just really want a home of our own. I'm hoping to find out more about your program and how it could help my family."

"I came upon this program while googling affordable and lower income housing in Columbus. I'm currently a single, working mother of 9 year old twins. I also have a 23 year old who is a student at O.S.U. I have met road blocks to finding safe and affordable housing and I am currently staying in a hotel with my twins. I have tried the homeless shelter, but since I have a job they don't seem to offer me very much assistance and I'm not eligible for many programs. Please let me know if there is an opportunity to get in a program like this. I've worked my entire life and I don't want a hand out, I just want some help. Thank you."

In 2016, 22 women met to talk about Move to PROSPER. This is what two of them said about how Move to PROSPER could change their lives.

“It would be great for me and my 3 kids because, it will give me a chance to get ahead, and also to show my kids something good. Let them get a chance to experience a better school district, and neighborhood and environment."

"I think this program would be beneficial for our children to get a better education and [provide] better things for them. [I'll] also have a chance to get my credit score up and an education for myself."
